Tsunami survival plan
. When you have a warning of a Tsunami you should always contact your family and friends first if they are in a danger zone. Make sure you always have the easiest system where you can quickly contact your family in the easiest way possible.
. Always follow the instructions of emergency personnel and collect all your important items and evacuate if you are in a danger zone, go to higher ground or go to an emergency shelter.
. If your at school always follow the teachers instructions to stay safe.
. If you are on a beach and an earthquake occurs do not wait for a warning signal evacuate immediately to higher ground because you will only have minutes to evacuate.
. If you are on a beach always be aware that multi story hotels with concrete support may provide safety.
. If you are in open ocean don’t return to port because harbours and the coast can be dangerous during a Tsunami.
. If you are at port and there is no authority to rely on owners of small boats should go to high grounds but if you have larger boats it is a good idea to move it to deeper water.
